Graham<\/a> has already left fans in a state of awe following the release of the first trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Next month, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/30\/discovered-best-netflix-show-look-2025-22463492\/\">Adolescence<\/a> is set to premiere on the streaming platform, following the story of a 13-year-old boy called Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) who\u2019s arrested after being accused of murdering a teenage girl who went to his school.<\/p>\n<p>The cast is absolutely packed with talent, with <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/peaky-blinders\/\">Peaky Blinders<\/a> star Stephen playing Jamie\u2019s father Eddie, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/20\/incredible-true-story-behind-brutal-historical-drama-a-thousand-blows-22596903\/\">A Thousand Blows<\/a> actress <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/24\/invigorating-erin-doherty-show-a-thousand-blows-binge-immediately-22618928\/\">Erin Doherty<\/a> portraying clinical psychologist Briony Ariston, and <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/top-boy\/\">Top Boy<\/a> actor <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ashley-walters\/\">Ashley Walters<\/a> depicting Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe.<\/p>\n<p>Not only has the first footage that\u2019s been released been described by viewers as \u2018amazing\u2019 and \u2018harrowing\u2019, but what makes the four-part series even more mind-blowing is that it has been filmed in one shot.<\/p>\n<p>Shedding further light on the filming process, director Philip Barantini \u2013 who also helmed the acclaimed one-shot film <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/05\/riveting-bbc-drama-starring-british-acting-legend-axed-just-one-season-22498353\/\">Boiling Point<\/a> in 2021 \u2013 told <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/02\/netflix-adolescence-jack-thorne-philip-barantini-stephen-graham-one-take-1236297284\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deadline <\/a>that Adolescence co-writer Jack Thorne \u2018had never written anything like this\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He\u2019s done amazing theatre but with this there is no curtain call. I\u2019m not allowed to cut away to go anywhere else,\u2019 adding that the \u2018camera doesn\u2019t blink in this show and by being unblinking it allows for a certain rawness and honesty\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer for Adolescence opens with heavily armed police charging into the Millers\u2019 family home and arresting Jamie, leaving his parents in utter despair.<\/p>\n<p>Jamie is then taken for an interrogation, with his father Eddie present as the teenager\u2019s \u2018appropriate adult\u2019, to support him while he\u2019s in police custody.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"323\" src=\"http:\/\/pilotshopworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/SEI_241375251-8626.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22621740\" alt=\"Adolescence. The most underrated British actor imo. This trailer woke my soul up.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Another YouTube user called @Najeebster admitted that while Stephen is one of the \u2018finest actors around\u2019, they\u2019re not sure if they have \u2018the stomach\u2019 for the \u2018harrowing\u2019 drama.<\/p>\n<p>On Instagram, more fans expressed how impressed they were with what they\u2019d watched, with @molliemigliusiene remarking: \u2018Can we just take a moment for this kids acting? Wowserssssss \ud83d\udc4f.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I’d put Stephen Graham up against any actor from any generation.
