Netflix<\/a> fans are hailing one star \u2018the best British actor\u2019 they\u2019ve ever seen after yet another stellar turn in his latest TV show.<\/p>\n

Last week, crime<\/a> drama Adolescence was released by the streaming giant, a riveting four-parter that told the story of a 13-year-old boy accused of murder.<\/p>\n

Owen Cooper<\/a>, 15, left audiences staggered in his first ever professional acting role as the suspect Jamie, holding his own in scenes with prolific performers including Ashley Walters<\/a> and Erin Doherty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stephen Graham<\/a>, who plays Jamie\u2019s dad Eddie<\/a>, also gave one of the greatest standout performances<\/a> of the \u2018one-shot\u2019 series<\/a>, with many viewers lauding the actor for being one of the best actors they\u2019ve ever witnessed on screen.<\/p>\n

The A Thousand Blows star<\/a> has plenty of critically-acclaimed films and TV shows under his belt, from This Is England to Peaky Blinders<\/a>, The Irishman and Line of Duty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reacting to his performance in Adolescence, numerous Metro <\/strong>readers were adamant that the 51-year-old is one of the most talented stars in the British acting industry, with some saying he deserves to sweep awards season when it comes back around.<\/p>\n

Everything that guy touches is acting gold! Mandatory Credit: Photo by Moviestore\/REX\/Shutterstock (1652701a) This Is England, Stephen Graham Film and Television\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Stephen Graham’s role as Combo in This Is England cemented him as a star (Picture: Moviestore\/Rex Features\/Shutterstock)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"factbox\" data-ico=\"factbox_article\" data-track-module=\"factbox_article\">\n<h2 class=\"factbox-title\">\n\t\t\t\tMetro's review of Adolescence\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<div class=\"factbox-content\">\n<p>It isn\u2019t very often that a TV show comes along that impacts audiences in the way that Adolescence has done. <\/p>\n<p>Not only is the series groundbreaking for the way in which it\u2019s been filmed \u2013 using a one-shot technique with every episode captured in a single continuous take \u2013 but it also is stirring up extremely important conversations about young people today.<\/p>\n<p>The story follows a 13-year-old boy accused of murder \u2013 a boy who, according to his family, could never have been capable of committing such an atrocious act.<\/p>\n<p>Owen Cooper is a revelation as Jamie Miller, with the 15-year-old already being tipped for greater things in his career after being cast in Adolescence in his first ever professional acting role.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty are also among the other powerhouse performances in the cast, each leaving viewers heartbroken with their gut-wrenching scenes.<\/p>\n<p>The themes that are addressed in Adolescence are already stirring up conversations among the public \u2013 including the way in which young people consume social media, the impact of harmful ideologies\u00a0spread by communities like the \u2018manosphere\u2019 and the tragedy of knife crime.<\/p>\n<p>Every element of the four-part drama has been masterfully curated to create an immersive viewing experience unlike any that have come before it\u2026 and one that will most likely inspire more TV dramas that will follow in its footsteps.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Paul brought up Stephen\u2019s work in The Virtues, a Channel 4 miniseries that was released in 2019 and was co-written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018His work with Shane Meadows is staggering,\u2019 the reader said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Just watch The Virtues, especially the scene where he gets drunk in the pub after learning his son is moving away. He’s just utterly incredible.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the actor astonished TV fans with both his performance and physical transformation for A Thousand Blows, a Disney Plus series set in the underground bare-knuckle boxing world of Victorian London.<\/p>\n<p>He took six months to train and bulk up for the role, and his performance as underground titan Sugar Goodson was truly menacing.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Watched him in A Thousand Blows the other night. I felt every emotion he showed even when he was not speaking. Fantastic actor.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Stephen Graham is an amazing actor. He makes every role he plays believable.
