first hit screens in 2021, but a whole new audience are now discovering it after it landed on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>The ten-episode series is a stand-alone prequel to <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/28\/netflix-fans-urged-watch-exceptional-tv-drama-episodes-finally-drop-22449428\/\">Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone<\/a>, and stars <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2018\/03\/12\/tim-mcgraw-age-net-worth-songs-marriage-faith-hill-dublin-collapse-7380683\/\">Tim McGraw<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/faith-hill\/\">Faith Hill<\/a>, Sam Elliott and Isabel May as the narrator.<\/p>\n<p>It marked the first time McGraw and Hill, both 57, played onscreen husband and wife, having been <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/06\/06\/faith-hill-and-tim-mcgraws-daughter-gracie-addresses-using-ozempic-18902833\/\">married in real life for nearly three decades<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They played <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/11\/11\/kevin-costners-insulting-yellowstone-exit-sparks-outrage-furious-fans-21973123\/\">Duttons’ great-grandparents<\/a>, James and Margaret, leading their Sam Elliott is, as always, phenomenal. Tim McGraw is a revelation.’<\/p>\n<p>Kenny Mac called the series ‘a gold nugget’ adding: ‘Brutal but beautiful, punchy but poignant. I went into this with no prior knowledge of Yellowstone or that this is a prequel, so I’m reviewing this as a standalone.
