overtaken <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/adolescence-tv-show\/\">Adolescence<\/a> on <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/netflix\/\">Netflix<\/a> to claim the number one spot.<\/p>\n<p>The one-take series Adolescence – following the fallout after a 13-year-old boy is accused of murder – has stormed the Netflix charts in recent weeks becoming the<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/25\/adolescence-makes-british-tv-history-racking-24-000-000-netflix-views-22787394\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/25\/adolescence-makes-british-tv-history-racking-24-000-000-netflix-views-22787394\/\"> most-watched limited series<\/a> with a total of 96.7 million viewers and counting.<\/p>\n<p>After reigning supreme for three weeks, it has finally been overtaken by Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer.<\/p>\n<p>The harrowing three-part docuseries follows the several-years-long hunt for the serial killer, told from the perspective of their victims and their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>‘A 911 call. Corrupt cops. Secrets buried in the sand. We had to have a lot of conversations, and trust does get built,’ she told <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/gone-girls-netflix-long-island-serial-killer-1236352935\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/gone-girls-netflix-long-island-serial-killer-1236352935\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"364\" src=\"http:\/\/pilotshopworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_246010555-38d4-e1743589846541.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22834657\" alt=\"Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer. At the end of the day, the stories of those they harmed, those who loved them and what it takes to get justice are ultimately more sticky and more interesting and more human.’<\/p>\n<p>After Heuermann’s arrest in 2023, Garbus was moved to revisit the case. <\/p>\n<p>She told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/tudum\/articles\/gone-girls-the-long-island-serial-killer-release-date-news\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/tudum\/articles\/gone-girls-the-long-island-serial-killer-release-date-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Netflix Tudum<\/a>: ‘Now we know who the alleged perpetrator is.
