Last One Laughing has been storming the Amazon Prime Video charts (Picture: YouTube)

Amazon Prime’s new comedy series, Last One Laughing UK, has made a case for itself to be added to the canon of classic TV less than two weeks after it debuted.

Hosted by Jimmy Carr and special guest Roisin Conaty, the reality show has broken the streamer’s records as one of its biggest UK launches ever, with the first episode watched nearly 3 million times.

For the uninitiated, the six-parter features 10 comics desperately battling to keep a straight face: Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett, Judi Love, Rob Beckett, Sara Pascoe, Lou Sanders, Joe Wilkinson, Harriet Kemsley, and Richard Ayoade.

They must not, under any circumstance, laugh; even when their poker faces are tested through a series of unhinged challenges. If they do, they are eliminated from the competition until there is one comedian standing.

The format has proved a hit with viewers, with X user @alanturnerr among those branding Last One Laughing as a comic masterpiece: ‘Last one laughing UK is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. Haven’t laughed at TV like this in years.’

So, if you’re in need of a laugh, here are the 7 best moments from Last One Laughing.
